Stuck Somewhere?

You've been given the assignment brief and you've read it eleven times and somehow still don't know where to start. That's normal, and it's also exactly what these sessions are for. We get a plan down on paper together, including working out research questions if you're at proposal or dissertation stage, so you're not just staring at a blank page wondering what on earth comes first.
-
You've got a draft. Maybe your second, maybe your fourth. You don't know if it's any good and you've read it too many times to tell anymore. I'll go through it properly, structure, content, clarity, the lot, then catch the grammar and typos on top.

This one's the long haul, so I do it properly. Planning sessions to get you started, then I track every edit and add comments as we go, the way a good supervisor would if they had the time (most don't).
-
Slides that actually supports what you're saying instead of fighting it. Help with delivery, with nerves, with the bit where you stand up and your brain goes blank. Honest feedback on both the slides and how you come across.

My background is primarily in Education, Psychology and Sociology, as well as (predominantly qualitative) research methods. If you need content support with these specific topics, I’ve got you covered.
-
A CV that actually says what you've done. A personal statement that doesn't read like everyone else's. And once you've got the interview, we work on that too, answering under pressure, not rambling, not freezing the second they ask a follow up. I've helped students and professionals get past the first cut more times than I can count.
-
The viva, the moment your supervisor or examiner asks "so why did you do it this way" and you have to answer out loud, on the spot, no second draft. We work on answering under pressure, defending your choices in real time, and not falling apart the second a question comes that you didn't expect.

AI's useful at the start, for getting unstuck, testing an angle, seeing a different way in. It's not so useful once it starts doing the thinking for you, and a lot of work that looks finished still isn't, once someone reads it properly. I help you use AI at the stage where it actually helps, then make sure what comes out the other end still sounds like you and still holds up if someone asks you to defend it.
Maybe it's a blank document staring back at you.
Maybe it's a dissertation that's gone everywhere except forward.
Maybe it's a CV you've rewritten four times and you still hate, or a presentation you’re freaking out about.
Wherever you're stuck, I’ve got you.
