Intro Call

Most people come to me when they know they’re capable of more, but can’t get it to come through clearly in their writing, speaking, or performance.

This is a short, focused call to understand what you’re working on, where you’re stuck, and whether I’m the right person to help.

This is for you if you’re:

  • overwhelmed, stuck, or going in circles with an essay, dissertation, presentation, or interview

  • aware that something isn’t working, but not yet clear what

  • looking to think more clearly, communicate more effectively, and perform better under pressure

  • considering 1:1 support and want to understand how I work.

In the call, we’ll:

Draft Fix Session (60 mins)

What this is


A 60-minute focused session to identify what is weakening your draft and fix the most important issue first, whether that is structure, argument, clarity, or critical analysis.

Available as a live online session or an offline document review with written feedback.

3 Hour Package: Structure → Criticality → Final Edit (3×60 mins)

A 3-hour package for students who want to improve the quality of a draft in a more joined-up way. We work on structure, criticality, and final editing so the piece becomes clearer, sharper, and more convincing overall.

This can be delivered online or offline:

  • online as a live working session

  • offline as a written review on your document

Designed for work of up to 4,000 to 5,000 words.

We work through the draft in three layers:

1. Structure
Clarify the argument, strengthen the line of reasoning, and sort the shape of the piece.

2. Criticality
Improve paragraph logic, evaluation, and stance so the writing does more than describe or summarise.

3. Final edit
Tighten flow, clarity, and expression so the final draft is cleaner, more controlled, and more effective.

Because this package is designed to be done in one focused block, the feedback is more joined-up and easier to apply across the whole draft.

Dissertation or Thesis Control: 5-Hour Intensive

What this is

A 5-hour deep review for dissertation or thesis work that needs clearer structure, stronger criticality, and sharper expression.

I work directly on your draft and supporting materials, adding tracked edits and high-level comments so you can see what is weakening the work, what needs developing, and what to fix first.

Delivered offline as written feedback on your document.

Who this is for

This is for you if:

  • your dissertation still feels shapeless, even though you have written a lot

  • your supervisor feedback is vague, limited, or non-existent

  • your work is still too descriptive and you cannot see how to make it more analytical

  • you keep rewriting sections without improving the quality of the thinking

  • you want rigorous feedback without endless meetings

This is not for you if:

  • you want someone to write the dissertation for you

  • you want unlimited ongoing support instead of focused feedback and suggested amendments

  • you need a full-draft review well beyond the word-count limit for one block

Over 5 hours of focused review time, I work directly on your document and supporting materials. You receive:

What I need from you

To make the review precise, send:

  • your current draft, or the chapter(s) / section(s) you want reviewed

  • your brief, handbook guidance, and marking criteria, if available

  • any supervisor feedback you have received

  • your research question or working title, even if it is still evolving

Messy is fine. You do not need a polished draft before sending it.

Scope

This package covers up to 7,500 to 10,000 words of review.

That is usually enough for one substantial chapter or two shorter sections, depending on the density and stage of the work.

If your draft is longer than that, you can either focus on the section that needs the most urgent attention or book an additional 5-hour block.

Optional add-on

If you want to talk through the feedback, you can add a 30-minute clarification call after the review.

  • Yes! Most people don’t arrive knowing whether the issue is structure, argument, clarity, critical analysis, or all of the above. Part of my job is working that out quickly and helping you focus on the change that will make the biggest difference.

  • No. You can come with notes, a rough plan, tutor feedback, a half-written draft, or a section that is not working. You do not need to have it all sorted before asking for help.

  • For a 60-minute session, please send up to 2,000 words, along with the brief and any feedback if you have them. The aim is to improve a focused part of the work, not review an entire long assignment line by line. For that, you might need a couple of sessions, which I can do. We can work this out in the intro call.

  • Yes. Most services are available either as a live online session or as an offline document review with written feedback. You can choose the format that suits you best, but most people prefer offline feedback because it’s a little dull watching me read.

  • No, sorry. do not ghostwrite or do the work for you. I help you strengthen the structure, argument, clarity, and expression so the final piece is better, while still sounding like you. I can edit through your draft though for clarity, academic tone etc.

  • That is more common than you think. A lot of people come to me when the work feels tangled, unclear, or harder to face than it should. You don’t need to have it looking impressive before you ask for help. Trust me, I’ve seen it all.

  • Yes. I also work with clients on presentations, speaking clearly under pressure, and improving work-related writing and communication.

  • I wish I could, but alas I can’t guarantee grades. Every marker and examiner is subjective, regardless of marking criteria. What I can do is help you produce work that is clearer, stronger, better structured, and more effective, which will positively impact your grade too, of course.

  • A lot of support in this space stays at the level of surface edits, generic advice, or motivational fluff. My work goes deeper than that.

    I don’t just help people polish sentences. I help them fix the thinking underneath the work, whether that means structure, argument, critical analysis, or communication under pressure.

    My approach combines academic rigour, practical editing, and human clarity. With a First from Cambridge, nearly 20 years of teaching experience, and a background in performance and communication as a trained actor, I help clients produce work that is clearer, stronger, and more deliberate, without making it sound like someone else wrote it.
